Cell Dissagregation Techniques

For Automated Cell Counting with Micro Counter®

1. Introduction

SimpleCounter is the only system that is able to count cells on ANY cell counting chamber, such as Neubauer, Thoma, Nageotte, etc. To correctly disaggregate the cells pipetted in the chamber is required to ensure accurate and reproducible cell counting results when using Micro Counter.

2. Centrifuge and isolate

In case the cell sample has other elements that do not need to be count, centrifugation of the sample can help to isolate the cells, and to remove other elements, such as debris.

3. Pipette 6 times

Once the sample is ready and is going to be pipetted from its original recipient to the counting chamber :

PIPETTE THE SAMPLE BACK AND FORTH FROM ITS ORIGINAL RECIPIENT AT LEAST 6 TIMES.

This will help mix and disaggregate the cells being pipetted into the chamber.
